Please refer to the Math ACT example from Assignment 9. You will choose sample size for that study using the Sample Variation Method and the Population Variation Method. You are encouraged to copy and slightly modify the SAS code displayed in lecture. Here is a copy.

1. In Table 1 below, please give the minimum sample size required for significance at the 0.05 level for each effect, if the effect explains a of the remaining sample variation after controlling for other effects in the model.

2. In Table 2 below, please give the minimum sample size needed for the test of each effect to have the specified power, assuming that the effect explains seven percent of the remaining population variation after controlling for other effects in the model. As usual, use alpha = 0.05.
