This page is under construction, and will be updated frequently throughout
the course.
I have changed the course outline to reflect the following agreement: Your score on the makeup test will be substituted for all the quizzes you missed, and also for the one or two lowest marks on the quizzes you did take -- but only if it helps your average.
Updated Term Marks, including the Makeup Test.
Note Assignment 11 below. There is also an updated formula sheet that includes the Geometric distribution.
On Monday Dec. 7 at 1:45 pm, I fixed a typo in the formula sheet (Geometric distribution starts from 1, not zero), and added a bit of clarifying information to Assignment 11, Question 2. Thanks to Christine for both of these! Then on Tuesday morning, I changed question 2 again. It's finally okay.

- Miscellaneous
- Material from earlier years. Please be aware that this course
is different every time I teach it. From my current perspective, I spent
too much time reviewing probability in 1991 and 2000. The course really
begins with Markov chains.
