Due in Jerry's mailbox (Sid Smith 6th floor) by 2pm, Tuesday Oct. 2nd. It will not be accepted later than that.

Here are questions based on our meeting with the client who came to class on Tuesday Sept. 18.

  1. What was the client's name?
  2. What was her affiliation? That is, what U of T department was she from?
  3. What was her position? Was she a professor, a graduate student, an undergraduate, a Post-doctoral fellow, a research associate, what?
  4. Give a brief description of the client's study. Who was studied? How many? What information was obtained, when?
  5. What is the main objective of the study? What are the two (or three) main research questions?
  6. Raw data were provided by the client. Write a SAS command file to read and label the data. Your variable labels will demonstrate that you know what the variables are.
  7. Using SAS, produce basic descriptive statistics for all the variables. You will NOT hand in the output, but please briefly describe anything noteworthy that you found. Comment.
  8. Using any software of your choice, conduct a statistical test (or set of tests) to answer the client's main research question as you understand it.
  9. Using any software of your choice, conduct a statistical test (or set of tests) to answer one additional research question; it may or may not be something the client mentioned.
  10. Summarize the findings in (9) and (10), if any, in language this client can understand.

Here's what you hand in, in this order, stapled together in one document with your name on the front.
