The following courses are being eliminated and will not be offered
after the 1998-99 academic year:

The following courses are being added and will be offered starting
in the 1999-2000 academic year:
ACT245H Fundamental Principles of Actuarial Science
ACT370H Asset and Liability Management
ACT455H Topics in Actuarial Mathematics II
ACT470H Advanced Pension Mathematics (offerred in alternate years)
ACT471H Actuarial Applications of Finance (offered in alternate
years)
In addition, ACT349H (Topics in Actuarial Mathematics I) is scheduled to
be offered, and a proposed new course ACT472H (Issues in Actuarial
Practice) may be offered.
NOTE THAT students who enrolled in an actuarial science program prior
to April 1, 1999 should follow (subject to the following course
substitutions) the program listed in the 1998-99 calendar. Students who
enrolled in an actuarial science program on April 1, 1999 or later should
follow the program listed in the 1999-2000 calendar.
NOTE ALSO that for STA/ACT courses listed in the 1999-2000 calendar,
if STA250H and 257H were taken in or before summer 1999, then
they will be accepted in place of STA 257H and 261H (new program students
must take STA 257H and STA 261H).

SUMMARY OF TRANSITION RULES FOR SOA/CAS EXAMINATIONS
The current system of SOA/CAS examinations changes with the start of year
2000. November, 1999 will be the last professional exam session in which
the current exams will be given. For details regarding transition rules,
look at the worldwide web site of the Society
of Actuaries under the "Education and Examinations" heading, and also
look at the website of the Casualty
Actuarial Society. The main points to be aware of regarding these
transition rules are:
Credit for current Course 100 or Course 110 will give transfer credit
for new Course 1.
Credit for current Courses 100 and 110 and 140 wil give transfer
credit for new Courses 1 and 2.
Credit for current Courses 150 and 151 will give transfer credit for
new Course 3 (or current course 150 and 20 "unassigned credits" will also
give transfer credit for new Course 3).
Credit for current Course 120 and 160 and CAS4B wil give transfer
credit for new Course 4(or credit for two of 120,160,4B plus 20 unassigned
credits wil give transfer credit for new Course 4).
