STA218s07 Computer Assignment 5

Due Tuesday April 10th in Lecture.

Please do Exercise 8.58 with Excel; do a two-tailed test, of course. I want something like Ztest.xls (including a two-sided p-value), except you are doing a test for difference between two percentages. I recommend that you test your spreadsheet on Example 8.16 (p. 322) to make sure you have it right, but don't hand this part in.

Please hand in two printouts, one showing the numbers, and the other showing the formulas. Remember, to display formulas, you hold down the Control key and press ` (the symbol under the ~). If the numbers and formulas do not correspond, you will receive at most 50% on this assignment. Please staple the sheets together with the top sheet showing the numbers, and write your name and student number clearly on the top sheet.
